We just finished up a fantastic Fall season of our ever-popular Gallery Tales program! For our Fall semester Gallery Tales we welcomed 780 students from 10 schools in both MCSD and surrounding counties. During the month of November alone, we served 338 students from 4 different schools as part of Gallery Tales: Westward Go! and Gallery Tales: The Way We Go!
During Westward Go! students from Wesley Heights Elementary, Britt David Elementary, and Wynnton Arts Academy worked with our Gallery Tales docents and education staff while learning about the Five Civilized Tribes, the westward expansion of settlers, and the Trail of Tears. Students also created their own fabric quilt square in our studio which was inspired by what they learned in the program. While participating in The Way We Go!, Pre-K and Kindergarten students from Fox Elementary and Wynnton Arts Academy learned about different types of transportation in our galleries and made a construction paper train in our studio.

In the Spring, we are offering two different Gallery Tales programs! K-5 students will learn about different forms of storytelling in Fables, Folklore, and Myth. While Pre-K students will learn discover the different jobs in our community during I’ve Got a Job to Do!
We are excited to say that within 24 hours of our Spring K-5 Gallery Tales dates being announced to all our MCSD schools, we booked all our available dates! However, we still have plenty of Pre-K dates available.
