Follow Us: 100 Years of Fort Benning – Documentary Screening

Join us March 28th at 6 PM for a screening of “Follow Us: 100 Years of Fort Benning.”

The screening is FREE and open to the public.

The film, produced for the Maneuver Center of Excellence by Gepadeux Media, is in celebration of the Army post’s centennial. It traces the evolution of a small encampment on the banks of the Chattahoochee River into the world’s preeminent military training facility.

The film features interviews with the Museum’s very own Curator of History, Rebecca Bush as well as the National Infantry Museum’s now-retired Director Frank Hanner.

Farm to Table(aux) brings together art & food lovers to enjoy a farm-to-table feast of fresh and seasonal dishes prepared by local chefs alongside the imaginative productions and performances of local artists and performers.

During the Cocktail Reception, 4-5 community-based designers or artists each produce a spectacular tableau using local models, actors, friends, or volunteers.

The local cause takes the stage during the seated program, and guests are served culinary delicacies from local chefs then feast on entertainment and performances.

Calling all mad scientists! Join us for a week of exploration as we dive headfirst into what it means to CREATE art and unlock the mysteries and secrets that science can bring to the artist’s table. Your camper will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of mediums, as well as rediscover their favorite pieces within the Museum’s collection.

Cost is: $145 for Members and $165 for Non members

Campers must meet the minimum age requirement on or before the first day of camp for which they have registered.

Campers should bring a lunch and snack each day.

Amazing Animals
Instructor: Kirsten Dunn

Take a walk on the wild side! Does your child love learning about Earth’s creatures? From the biggest to the smallest, your child will play, create and explore everything to do with animals and art at the Museum! By the end of the week, each camper will have a new understanding of paint, sculpture and mixed media, all while getting to know some of their favorite animals.

Cost is: $60 for Members and $80 for Nonmembers.

 

 

Register

 

Campers must meet the minimum age requirement on or before the first day of camp for which they have registered. Pre-K Campers must be fully toilet trained and able to demonstrate full bathroom independence in order to attend any drop-off program.

Pre-K campers should bring a snack each day.

Passionate About Painting

Instructor: Liz Lovin
Grab your brushes, prepare your palettes and paint! In this camp, students will learn about different mediums including acrylic, watercolor and tempra. Campers will explore the Museum and gain inspiration from artists in the Museum’s permanent collection. Your young artists will leave camp with a variety of new art making skills and a passion for painting!

Cost is: $145 for Members and $165 for Non members

Mixed Media Madness
Instructor: Samantha Simmons

Come ready to get creative and learn about mixed media works and unleash your imagination as you construct your own works of art! Mixed media refers to artwork made with more than one traditional art medium. In this class, students will experiment with various visual art mediums and learn that artists can mix many materials to create beautiful works of art.

Cost is: $145 for Members and $165 for Non members
