The Orphans of G. Gunby Jordan and Other Tales from Columbus’ World War I Home Front

Featuring: Rebecca Bush, Curator of History and David Owings, University Archivist, Columbus State University

The United States’ entry into World War I set off a flurry of activity in Columbus- men rushed to enlist or register for the draft while women led fundraising and first aid efforts to support those overseas. Our featured speakers will discuss how men, women, and children of all ages and backgrounds participated in home front and refugee relief efforts.

If you are interested in purchasing a $10 lunch, please contact the Education Department at edu@columbusmuseum.com by Monday, July 24.

This program is held in conjunction with the “WWI” exhibition.
