The Orphans of G. Gunby Jordan and Other Tales from Columbus’ World War I Home Front

Featuring: Rebecca Bush, Curator of History and David Owings, University Archivist, Columbus State University

The United States’ entry into World War I set off a flurry of activity in Columbus- men rushed to enlist or register for the draft while women led fundraising and first aid efforts to support those overseas. Our featured speakers will discuss how men, women, and children of all ages and backgrounds participated in home front and refugee relief efforts.

War Games (Hosted in partnership with the National Infantry Museum)
Aug 24 @ 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Join us for a night of gaming.  Invite your friends and family to choose from a wide range of World War I inspired board and video games.  Board games are suitable for ages 10 and up; video games are suitable for ages 17 and up.  Snacks will be provided as they last.

Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
