This Wonderful Wednesday program is held in conjunctions with our exhibition Let the Records Show: Discovering the Valley’s Black Community in Slavery and Freedom. Come hear Chetter Galloway perform stories, songs, spoken word and dramatization of historical events as he produces a memorable picture of the slave experience during the Civil War and Reconstruction.
In this moving program, both children and adults will gain an appreciation of the courage and ingenuity of enslaved Africans who devised ‘coded songs’ to prevent their masters from discovering their escape plans. This program is a tribute to their brave struggle for freedom, equality and human dignity.
Reservations are only required for groups of five or more children and are limited to a max of 25, including adults.

Paper-making Spring Break Camp
Tuesday-Friday, April 6-9
1 p.m. -- 4 p.m.
Ages: 5 - 9 years old
Camp fee: $50 Museum members, $65 non-members
Children will enjoy a creative and educational experience during our Spring Break Camp! The students will get to make their own paper and paintings. Payment includes all four days. Reservations are required a week in advance.
Family Fun Day -- “A Victorian Day”

Family Fun Day is the Museum’s largest family program of the year! This year’s event will be in conjunction withour exhibition The Way We Lived: Residential Architecture and life in the 19th Century, and features a variety of fun and educational attractions, including performers, face painters, films and much more. Children will be able to participate in arts and crafts activities that focus on the Victorian Era.

Basic Drawing Summer Camp

Come learn the basics of art! At this camp children will learn the basic tenets of drawing. They will sketch in the gallery and flesh out their own works the Studio. Payment includes all four days. Modern Art Summer Camp

Innovative contemporary art from the Museum’s permanent collection is featured in this camp. Students will learn about contemporary artists in our collections.
