Select Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Fantastic Fridays bring a variety of musicians, storytellers, dancers, and puppeteers to the Columbus Museum! Each program relates to objects and themes found in the Museum’s Permanent Collection and temporary exhibitions. Each performance begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Patrick Theater. The Museum doors open at 10:00 a.m. Seating is first come-first served. After the performance, create an art project in the Galleria, go on a museum gallery exploration, and get a temporary tattoo! All activities are available until noon while supplies last. Check available upcoming events below, or contact the Education Department at email@example.com for more information.
Special group performances for summer day camps are available at 1:00 each Friday and are only available through pre-registration. In addition to attending the performance, each group will receive art materials and directions for an art activity to take back to their location. To register for a group performance contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Featuring: David Novak
David Novak connects stories with nature using personal experience, folk tales, myth, and history in “They Came From Land and Sky”. With entertaining gestures, characters, voices, and original renditions of familiar tales, you will discover how people learned to tell stories using the natural world.
Featuring: Bright Star Touring Company
Wacky duo Dustmop and Binny stumble upon an audience and decide to put on a play in “Upcycled Cinderella.” Using household items, recycled objects, and physical comedy, Bright Star’s performers create hilarious characters, inventive settings and lively scenes that will activate the audience’s imagination.
Featuring: Plays on the Go
Using acting, singing, and dancing, Plays on the Go will present tales from long ago featuring animal characters who talk and act like humans in “Fun Fables and Fantastic Folktales.” With plenty of opportunity for audience participation, attendees will sing and dance their way through the show.
