The Museum In Your Classroom

The Educator Resource Center (ERC) is a multi-media resource library for educators. All the materials have connections to our history and art collections and are free to check out to teachers. Choose from books, videos, DVDs, posters and other materials to add dimension and context to your lessons.

All materials can be checked out for two weeks. Teachers are responsible for returning all materials in the same condition that they received them. If materials are damaged or missing the teacher will be invoiced for the cost of replacing the materials.

Distance Learning

Schools across the Chattahoochee Valley region and beyond can tune in into special standards – based programs at the Columbus Museum in two unique ways; video resources hosted on YouTube and TeacherTube and classroom lessons via Skype. Both of these specialized programs will provide one – on – one experiences with pieces from our collection and changing exhibits, as well as offer interactions with Museum staff and special guests for students unable to physically make it to the Museum.

Muse on the Move: Traveling Trunk Program

The Muse on the Move program brings the Museum directly into classrooms. These traveling trunks are all – in – one curriculum resource kits designed to provide teachers with resources related to our collection to use in their classrooms. These include anything from lesson plans, books, and DVDs to reproduction objects.
